Maybe you’ve always wanted to get into yoga, you’ve heard how yoga is a great fitness outlet, or you simply want to try something new – whatever it is, you’ve come to the right place! Repose Yoga specialises in helping those at the beginning stages of their yoga adventure, giving you the confidence and guidance you need.

Relax and restore your body and mind: relieve stress, anxiety, tension, and all the negativity you hold, finding the perfect balance.

These classes are intended to equip you with the foundations of effective yoga practice, giving you the instruction and support you need to reach your full potential.

Our small class sizes ensure that beginners get the attention they need in a supportive environment, helping build the foundation of their practice before moving on to more advanced poses (asana).

It can be hard in our everyday lives to find a moment for ourselves and embrace calm. We’ve created a warm, mindful space in our studio for deep relaxation. Go at your own pace and discover how each pose makes your body feel – both in terms of the physical and mental. Your teacher will help correct your form, ensuring that your technique is accurate and that you will get the most benefits from the movement.

With gentle yoga styles, guided meditation and breath exercises, you’ll be given everything you need over the course of our classes to bring yourself into alignment and embrace peace in your life.

At Repose Yoga studio, we believe everyone – regardless of their ability or mobility – should be able to enjoy yoga.

To ensure that we can provide the support our students need, we work closely with doctors, physiotherapists and osteopaths, developing personal instruction methods for those with injuries and other limitations.

We welcome those recovering from injuries and surgeries, prenatal women and those with limited mobility.

Our Melbourne yoga classes are available both in our Mount Waverley yoga studio and via Zoom.

What should a beginner of yoga learn first and how?

Beginners yoga Melbourne is all about easing your body into the exercise, helping it learn what each pose feels like and getting the postures right.

We’ve developed a few classes that are better suited to beginners, including Hatha and Morning Flow. If you are unsure whether a class will be right for you, feel free to call us at 0406 614 012 and ask for more information.

Some forms of yoga, such as Vinyasa and hot yoga, may be more challenging for beginners. As such, we would recommend that you start with one of our beginner yoga classes and work your way up.

How much yoga should a beginner do?

When it comes to beginners yoga Melbourne, you want to start slow and build your skills. You don’t want to overdo it, so keep your classes to two or three a week at most.

If you can’t hold all of the poses yet, don’t worry – do what you can, and your teacher will be able to guide you as to what to do in the meantime

You can either purchase a one-off pass that gives you access to a single yoga class (Hatha, Vinyasa and Morning Flow) or a 10-class pass that is valid for 12 weeks. Our passes are for both in-person classes at our yoga studio in Mount Waverley or via Zoom – the choice is yours. For more details, call 0406 614 012 today!
